Knight orders of Argulin- Order of the Red Rose: Knights in charge of the leadership and training of the rank and file of the Argulin military. Leader: Albert Moorheim, male human.
Order of the Amethyst Rose: Knights trained to be spellswords and eldritch knights, most often taught the art of Spell-trancing, a deadly fusion of spell and sword on the battlefield. Warmages also make up a large bulk of their ranks. Leader: Amerin Rae, female high elf
Order of the Blue Rose: Knights trained in expert horsemanship, often leading other cavalry and ground forces in assaults. Through conditioning, these knights and their horses could wear armor far heavier than normal, earning them the nickname "Mobile Fortresses". Leader- Barrus Grainner male human
Order of the Jade Rose: Knights trained in the art of the bow and stealth, they are most often called upon to support their allies from a distance, or by eliminating "high priority targets" without heavy resistance. Leader: Kara Zhastal, female human
Order of the White Rose: Founded by the Church of the Dawn Mother, the ranks of this order are formed mainly of warpriests and hospitalers with few paladins (due to their rarity). As they are requested, they tend to the wounded of the battlefield and provide boons to fatigued troops, often calling for blessings to push the army forward. They are also called to service to deal with inquisitions into those of the homeland partaking in dark and forbidden magics. Leader: Father Wilhelm Stock, male human
Order of the Black Rose: Comprised of members of the other orders, the Black Rose are often tasked with missions that take them far and wide, most often to fight evils and injustices abroad for allies or those crying out for help. Most, if not all, missions undertaken by these knights are of great importance and danger, meaning that most can assume that they will not return with their lives. Given this nature, a great many still return home safe, a testament to the brotherhood and care for one another exhibited by this order. Leader: Lucian Lyngard, male human
Formation of the Orders of the Roses-
Before their current forms, the orders were simply noble houses, given responsibility to provide leaders from among them to guide the soldiers and politics of the nation. It was not until the appearance of Araley Lazareth I, or as she would become known among the populace Our Little Lady of War, that the Orders were formed at her request for a unified group that could set aside their bickering to defend the homeland and reclaim territories taken by the empire of Roshil. She would die young, at the age of 26. Her love for roses, which adorned her private garden, guided the houses to take up names that befitted the roses of her garden, with the Order of the Black Rose being named after the black roses laid upon Araley's grave by the masses, bouquets still unwilted to this day, said to have been blessed by her spirit to keep vigil over her tomb and the kingdom forever.
White Wolf Company-
Mercenary contracts could be sponsored by the nation, as such White Wolf Company was founded to be hired by the royal family to perform services that could not be handled due to political reasons or because the military could not be mobilized for the task. While a company allowed to work for anyone of Argulin, the company was required to do "Nothing that would bring shame to the nation, or to undertake work that would could be seen as wicked or illegal." The last orders given to the company before the destruction of Argulin was to secure a safe place to begin the rebuilding process, whether as a permanent home or as a staging point to return to Argulin's shores and reclaim their homeland.
Paladinhood in Argulin-
A paladin in Argulin could never be trained, he or she was either born with divine gifts or they weren't. Most paladins would end up in service of the church or the nation, as most felt obligated to use this gift for the good of the realm, though it was never required. Most born with said gifts could not control them properly without guidance, though it has always been noted that even when not in full control of their strengths those who were born with such skills were strong of will and spirit, often drawing upon their wellspring of divine might during desperate times to do miraculous things.
The Goddess and her servants-
I'nil, the Dawn Mother of Argulin, is said to have blessed the people with her light. People of Argulin are not always faithful to the goddess, but they revere her even if they do not give her alms.
The Archangels of the goddess: Almeria, Archangel of War, Verai, Archangel of Mercy, and Frelisara, Archangel of Guidance, as well as the Valkyr (angelic beings) that attend them, have often been seen within the city and on the battlefield, though a personal sighting within one's lifetime would be rare. These physical representations would further bolster the people's faith, claiming I'nil was the one true deity, despite the knowledge of the existence of the others. The Church of the Dawn Mother teaches the words of the goddess, while the branches of the Church that deal in the veneration of the three Archangels calls to those who wish to serve through specialization (though each branch still answers to the main church).
Law: Argulin is ruled by it's king and/or queen, though many of the rules of the land are taken from teachings from the Holy Book of the Dawn. While the Church and the Monarchy may not always see eye-to-eye about law and actions, both have worked diligently to protect the people and uphold their wishes.
